Case Study | Indonesia Home ESS Project: 2x 5kWh Wall-Mounted + 1x 15kWh Floor-Standing Battery System

Project Location: Indonesia Installation Date: July 18, 2026 Executed By: Cooli

Project Background

As a tropical archipelago nation, Indonesia continues to face challenges around grid stability — frequent outages and voltage fluctuations are common concerns for many households and small businesses. As a result, more and more customers are turning to solar-plus-storage systems, aiming for greater self-consumption of solar power and more reliable, cost-effective electricity.

This project’s customer was one such case. After initial consultation and system design, our team configured a solution combining one hybrid inverter, two 5kWh wall-mounted batteries, and one 15kWh floor-standing battery — bringing the total storage capacity to 25kWh, sufficient to cover the customer’s daily energy needs as well as backup power during outages.

As shown in the on-site photos, the entire system was mounted on a custom steel rack, neatly securing the inverter, protection cabinet, and battery modules to the wall of the customer’s patio. This ensures clean, code-compliant cable routing while also making future maintenance and servicing straightforward.

Installation Highlights

1. Efficient Space Utilization Given the limited space on the customer’s patio, we adopted a “wall-mounted above, floor-standing below” configuration: the two 5kWh wall-mounted batteries were installed on the upper section of the rack, while the 15kWh floor-standing unit was placed on the ground. This layout minimizes footprint while keeping the overall installation compact and visually clean.

2. Organized and Reliable Wiring The battery combiner cabinet integrates circuit breakers and contactors for protection. Positive and negative cables are clearly color-coded (red/black) and neatly routed, and the cabinet door opens for easy inspection and maintenance — all designed with long-term safety and serviceability in mind.

3. Flexible for Future Expansion The rack uses a modular design, so if the customer wishes to expand the system later — adding more batteries or solar panels — this can be done directly on the existing frame without additional construction work.

Customer Feedback

After the installation was completed, the customer expressed satisfaction with the overall workmanship, the tidiness of the wiring, and the system’s operating condition. The customer even took on-site photos as part of the acceptance record and shared them with our team — a strong vote of confidence in our installation team’s professionalism.

Closing Thoughts

From the solar panels to the inverter, from the battery modules to every cable inside the protection cabinet, Cooli remains committed to the principle of “safety first, standardized installation” — striving to ensure every overseas project stands the test of time and the scrutiny of our customers.

Going forward, we will continue to deepen our presence in Indonesia and the broader Southeast Asian market, delivering reliable energy storage solutions to more residential and commercial customers.
